On April 21, 2026, at 10:50, Israeli forces stormed the village of Al-Mughayir, where confrontations took place with citizens while they were on patrol, and fired stun grenades toward citizens under the pretext that they had been stoned.
At 12:30, a group of settlers attacked the boys’ school in the village of Al-Mughayir and opened fire on citizens as they were trying to reach the school to evacuate students, as well as toward the school classrooms, which led to the death of two citizens (one of whom was a child student) and the wounding of three citizens.
Two citizens were killed, one of them a school student, and three others were injured on Tuesday afternoon by settlers’ bullets. The student Aws Hamdi Al-Naasan (14 years old) and the young man Marzouq Abu Naim (32 years old) were shot dead, and three others were injured by live bullets.
It should be noted that the father of the child Aws was martyred by colonial bullets in 2019.
According to one of the paramedics, at least three settlers participated in the attack and were deliberately shooting at children trying to flee the classrooms. They shot from the hill surrounding the village, at a distance of 50 meters from the school and overlooking it, which enabled them to target the children and aim their bullets with accuracy approaching sniping.
One of the wounded, Atallah Abu Alia, narrates how the occupation forces intervened by storming the village after the school shooting incident to provide protection for the settlers. He says that he was going to the mosque for the noon prayer, and when he heard about the settlers’ attack, he headed toward the school. As he approached it, a military vehicle belonging to the occupation army stopped next to him, and without warning, a soldier shot him, wounding him in the leg.
According to this accounts, Israeli forces were still present during the settlers’ shooting, and backed the attack. Later in the day, Israeli armored vehicles blocked the funeral and fired tear gas grenades.
Perpetrators:
The name of a well known settler, Shmuel Vandy, spreaded quickly on the social medias, but it is a fake news. The identity of the real gunman was not released and The Israeli military identified him as a civilian reservist, who was not mobilised at the time. Despite the lethal outcome, no arrest has been made, though the military claims an investigation is underway into reports of "rock-throwing".
Names of the martyrs:
Jihad Marzouk Abu Naim, 32
Aws Hamdi Al-Naasan, 14
The 3 wounded as a result of gunfire by settlers during their attack on a boys’ school in the village of Al-Mughayir are Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Naasan, Atallah Muhammad Abu Alia, and Muhammad Riyad Abu Alia.
