Assassination of Al-Jazeera crew at Al-Shifa hospital

Gaza, Gaza City, Al-Shifa Medical Complex 10 August, 2025
At least 7 martyred
Around 11:20 pm, an Israeli airstrike targeted the tent of Al-Jazeera's staff at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, killing 6 journalists including renowned Al-Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qriqea. The massacre also injured journalists Ahmad Al-Harazin, Mohammad Sobh, and Mohammad Qayta. The IDF assassinated them after a long campaign of incitement— and murder— against Palestinians journalists, particularly Anas whom it accused repeatedly and without evidence of being an agent of Hamas. The assassination came on the anniversary of one of Israel's most gruesome massacres at Al-Tabi'in school where Anas had documented some of his most poignant reporting. Shortly after the latter, the IDF's arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee incited against Anas, and continued to do so several times throughout the next 12 months. The IDF put Anas on a kill-list of journalists and continued inciting against Anas after his reporting on the devastating effects of Israel's starvation policy starting late July. Former US army EOD export Trevor Ball noted that the damage pattern seen in the aftermath is "consistent with an Israeli Mikholit bomb. They've (IDF) also used the Mikholit is similar strikes on media tents in the past." **Names of the martyrs:** 1. Anas Al-Sharif "Abu Salah" (correspondent for Al Jazeera) 2. Mohammed Qriqea "Abu Zain" (correspondent for Al Jazeera) 3. Ibrahim Daher "Abu Karim" (Al Jazeera cameraman and volunteer paramedic) 4. Mohammad Nofal "Abu Yahya" (Al Jazeera crew assistant photojournalist) 5. Momen Aliwa (cameraman) 6. Muhammad Al-Khalidi (freelance journalist)

Ethnic cleansing of Ein Ayoub Bedouin community

West Bank, Ramallah, Deir Ammar, Ein Ayoub 08 August, 2025
**Israeli army expels the Bedouin community of Ein Ayoub, near Deir Ammar, West Bank** ***** The Ein Ayoub Bedouin community (Ramallah, near Deir Ammar) is an "Area C" community threatened with forcible transfer by both Israeli settlers and the Israeli army: — 19 households comprising 102 members. Extensive Israeli settler groundworks have already been completed around Ein Ayoub- adjacent to community structures and grazing lands, significantly restricting movement and access. These ground works have effectively enabled Israeli settler infrastructure to surround the community’s perimeter — bypass roads, settlements, including *Na’aleh* and *Nahliel*, and settlement outposts including a recently established one in the Al Reysan area. This new outpost is linked to the Neria outpost, commonly referred to as *‘Neria’s farm’*, which is linked to **Neria Ben Pazi** who has been sanctioned by multiple governments, due to his alleged involvement in violent attacks and forced displacement of Palestinians. ### Timeline of recent events ***** **August 8, 2025** – Jewish settlers raided the community, terrorizing residents and warning them they had 24 hours to leave the area. According to reports from the community, on 8 August at approximately 19:00, armed settlers, accompanied by Israeli forces, entered the community and assaulted residents. Settlers verbally ordered the community to leave within 24 hours, while Israeli forces told residents they had one week to vacate. All threats were verbal only, with no written orders, creating legal uncertainty and heightening fear. We understand that the Palestinian Authority is supporting legal aid in this community. **August 9, 2025** – On the morning, 9 August, approximately 30 armed settlers arrived near the community and remain present, maintaining pressure and threats. Residents moved their sheep out at night to avoid harm or confiscation. Palestinian homes were torched by violent Israeli settlers. **August 11, 2025** – After residents had already resigned themselves to displacement by settler militias and were preparing to leave their homes within the next couple of days, soldiers arrived in the village late at night. They declared the village a "closed military zone" and ordered the residents to leave immediately. When locals firmly refused to leave during the night, the soldiers “allowed” them to stay until 1 p.m., in two separate tents — one for men, the other for women — on the condition that, while in the village, no one could leave the tents or move between them. After granting this “permission,” the soldiers forced one of the men to state on camera that no one had attempted to expel them **Testimony of the activits account Dror Etkes** *I have been going around the West Bank for over 20 years, and I can testify that the connection between IDF and the settlers has always been a malignant block of poison, but it has never been as close to the level of toxicity as it is under the current Central Command chief, Avi Balut [He replaced Major General Yehuda Fox as the central commander chief.]. This is the order, according to which the soldiers on the spot expelled the Bedouins from their homes last night. Take note of the name: “Peace Farm Area.” The IDF spokesperson claims it was a mistake by the soldiers on the ground: There is no “farm” there, nor any “peace.” There is also no legal basis for establishing a “farm” since there is no “state land” there. What there is, is an outpost from which the violence in the area began — but the Orwellian name reveals the settlers’ plans. The poisonous fingerprints of Smotrich and his people in the Ministry of Defense are as clear as can be. The closure order signed by Inan Fares, the newly appointed commander of the Binyamin Brigade, [Anan is the commander chief of the Binyamin brigade. He currently holds the rank of lieutenant colonel] is not a “mistake,” as the IDF spokesperson claims, but the most distilled and authentic expression of how the settlers operate the army — however and whenever they want. The soldiers expelled the Palestinians yesterday because that is what they were told they should do.* **According to UNOCHA**, this is the ninth community to be fully displaced in the Ramallah governorate since January 2023, following recurrent attacks by Israeli settlers.

Demolition of a school under construction in the village of Aqaba

West Bank, Jordan Valley, Tubas, Aqaba 04 August, 2025
On Augustus 5, 2025, Israeli bulldozers began the demolition of a school under construction in the village of Al-Aqaba east of Tubas. Director of Education in Tubas, Azmi Bsharat, said Israeli forces, accompanied by bulldozers, stormed the village of Al-Aqaba and proceeded to demolish the school, which was funded by the French Agency. The occupation had issued a stop-work order against the school several months ago and had also seized heavy machinery that was being used at the site. Despite plans being submitted to the Civil Administration and assurances a court ruling would be awaited, the demolition proceeded on August 5. The school was intended to be a two-storey building, covering an area of 704 square meters, and constructed on a five-dunum plot of land. **Report from UNOCAH:** On 5 August, Israeli authorities demolished a donor-funded under-construction school intended to serve approximately 90 students in Al ‘Aqaba village, in Tubas governorate. Previously on 24 June 2024, a stop-work order was issued against the project, and a cement mixer and bulldozer were confiscated and held for about a month by Israeli forces. In late August 2024, the Al ‘Aqaba village council submitted the project plans and requests for permits to the Israeli Civil Administration (ICA) and received a response stating that the demolition would not proceed until a decision is made by the court. Nonetheless, the ICA proceeded with the demolition on 5 August 2025. The planned school was intended to replace the existing governmental village school, which operates under poor conditions, lacking adequate infrastructure and essential facilities. **France Foreign Ministry statement:** On Augustus 15, *“France strongly condemns the destruction by Israeli authorities of a school under construction in the northern West Bank, funded by the French Development Agency in cooperation with the European Union. We are demanding accountability from the Israeli authorities for this demolition”* The ministry said it is the second demolition of a French-funded project in the West Bank, after the Al-Bustan center in East Jerusalem : *“The continuation of the settlement policy constitutes a serious violation of international law and threatens the prospect of a two-state solution,”* ![](https://i0.wp.com/www.middleeastmonitor.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/GettyImages-2228236131-1.jpg?fit=920%2C613&ssl=1) *Palestinian students hold flags and placards on the rubble of their destroyed aqaba mixed basic school protesting against its demolition by Israeli forces in the village of Aqaba.
